About me
Kelley Bendheim serves as Assistant Director of Early Literacy in the Office of Early Learning at the NC Department of Public Instruction. She began her career in education as a teacher in 1996 in Virginia and went on to serve in North Carolina as an educator, interventionist, instructional coach, and literacy lead in a turnaround school. Her latest role before joining NCDPI was as Director of the Office of Early Learning in WS/FCS. She has her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University and her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Appalachian State University. Currently, Mrs. Bendheim is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Appalachian State University.
